The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams This book basically follows the travels of Arthur Dent, an Earthman rescued by Ford Prefect, from the planet Betelgeuse, just before the Earth is destroyed. The are joined by a few other characters and end up in several very improbable situations.
I know several people who love this book and so decided that I should try it at as well. I enjoyed it, though it isn't a favorite. I love the names of the characters. I did remark to a coworker who loves the book, that the character names made me think of Dr. Seuss. I also loved, even though it was only mentioned, the creature Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal. I just find the idea of it thinking if you can't see it, it can't see you as very funny. And thanks to this book, I finally know the meaning of life.
